it's nice to see someone so happy. even if i have no idea what's going on...i'm a hockey fan myself. don't know much about any other sports, or college-level stuff. jadachris, please tell me that you at least watched the hockey game between canada and the u.s. for the world junior gold medal. canadians are still hurting over that one...we wanted to win so badly. and we were all glued to our sets. it's bad enough our team lost, but then to find out we lost to people who didn't even know there was a hockey game on...

i don't know anything about soccer, as we call it here in north america. but i do know that it's the number one watched sport in the world. did you know that's a trivial pursuit question.we have long winters here in canada, so we can play hockey more often. summers last about two months!we can brag about having the greatest hockey players in the world, though! i'm afraid the only soccer player i know of is david beckham...only because i've watched him on entertainment shows with victoria. i totally understand the excitement of watching a major sports event, and seeing your favourite team win! congrats!

by the way, football in the united states and canada is the game that uses the pigskin ball, and a bunch of big, beefy guys throw it around. that's about all i know. don't watch it much. (me like hockey!)

rugby doesn't wear helmets or all that padding in the uniform, though, do they? my brother-in-law used to play rugby...got broken bones a lot. my sister ordered him to stop. yes, it's ice hockey. we play lots of street hockey, too. canadians are quite fanatical about hockey, at any time of the year. soccer just isn't something that north americans really watch or pay attention to. it's hockey in canada, basketball in the states. i just want everyone to know that the greatest game of hockey ever played was the 1972 game between the Canadians and the former Soviet Union. very exciting! i remember we got let out school that day; teachers figured there was no sense keeping us in class, nobody was thinking about math or history!

i watch loadsa sports, but footie is my main sport.
Used to be into baseball for a while, the season that mark mcgwire (dunno spelling) got the most home runs in a season, but i got bored of it after that, its too slow, and too many stats.
Then i was into american footbal for a bit, but the rules were just too complicated, and slow! lol
Then i tried watching baskeball, but there doesnt seem to be any passion in the game, and just seems like business, business and more business, and the crowds are the worst iv ever seen!
i cant watch ice hockey, because i cant see the dam puck!! lol
ive tried getting in interest in lots other sports even the slalom! lol but its always back to my first love..........FOOTIE!! lol
what do u all think about other sports, except your faves?

jadachris, the americans tried (once) to light up the puck in an icehockey game, so it showed blue onscreen and people watching at home could follow it. fans generally hated it...spent their time watching the blue streak instead of the players. that didn't last long, thank goodness....and it didn't help the people at the game, because the puck was only lit up on tv. just so you know, canadian football has different rules than american. i don't watch much of either, because i dislike all the interruptions ("downs" ) and it doesn't seem to go very fast. i finally figured out who Man U is! that's Manchester United, right? hey, i know more than i thot i did!

lol i would have liked to see the lit up puck though. so who is your fave hockey team stoontoons? or have u said it already?
another thing that bugs me about american sports, is that there is no, promotion and relegation into different leagues, so every season is against the same teams, where is the anticipation in that?? if there were no promotion and relegation, my wolves would have never been able to play man u!! what do americans think about the league systems there???
lol im glad u know more than me, yeah man u is , manchester united, the team that has more fans outside of manchester, than inside!!! lol lol
