Everybody is doing quite well here. Of course the subject is very interesting. All these pictures of Matthau are very good lessons for caricature. It is not easy though.... (New Project for exaggeration started on the other thread is very helpful to improve caricature)... So I would like to do another one if I get enough time. Here is my quickie one.

Makarand, wonderful job! They have all been great!
But folks...
Look at Mark's entry one more time. Now look at his avatar. Back to the drawing, now back to the avatar. Hmmm.

I really wanted to do this guy. He was so much fun. I wanted this to be a bit more exaggerated than it turned out being, but when I finished (as most of you have experienced), the features seemed almost correct, instead of huge nose, etc. Oh, well. I'll probably try him again soon. Please, please critique. Good and/or bad are appreciated. Thanks!! -- Eric

Thanks Tooned for the comment.
I agree, he does look very smooth and therefore young. Two things though.
1) I did draw him from a younger picture that I found, but
2) he still did have the wrinkles going on in the picture, just not as many.
Do you have any tips on how to fix him? I've never really done wrinkles because a long time ago, heard some advice that said if you draw wrinkles, you risk making it look like little tattoos all over the face.
Thanks.
-- Eric

Here's another entry for this post. I've just not been satisfied in the slightest with my efforts with Mr. Matthau.
