as rosemary said, eyes are the most important feature. they are also one of the most difficult to draw...other than hands. the suggestion was made to use templates to draw the iris, which i do, as well. just remember, no two eyes are alike! not even on the same face. follow the shape of the individual eye, don't look at them at the same time. i find it sometimes helps me if i cover one eye up, and focus on the other one. i generally start by drawing eyes on the face, and then i'll go the rest of the features.
