Hey Chris, you think these clothes are weird...you should see my inflatable jogging pants. This is my outfit when I draw caricatures at festivals or at weddings or etc. say, that reminds me...I should dig up some pictures of my boardwalk display!
Anyway... this is so cool! Thanks Chris! It looks great! I don't know how you could tell my eyes are blue from those pics, but they are.

Hey Chris, I really like this drawing (not just because it's of me) The color's great, the likeness is spot on and you are getting neat little touches...I really like the distortion in my glasses and how my brow goes up into my hat. I too would like to see more drawings from you. By the way...where are you from? Your profile is pretty blank.

Slim...thanks Im glad you enjoy it. Your face is perfect for the cartoony style. not to mention the outfit.Dont know why, no resemblance or anything but it kinda reminds me of Willy Wonka, regardless, glad you enjoy the drawing. I guess I could start posting more stuff. I have been trying to improve my likenesses. Im getting a couple of them down and when I finish the sketches I will be sure to post them for the world to see. As for more about me, I dont have much of a story to tell, I live in Orlando FL. I worked doing caricatures live @ SeaWorld with some AMAZING artists for a little over 2 years. Now college is begining. I have a few challenges to tackle, hard time coming up with the money for art school, no scholarships , but I'll make it. Thats me, in a nutshell. Im just trying to improve greatly so I will be ready for the real world. -Chris

Hey Chris! Seaworld, huh? Do you have any samples of your live stuff? Maybe I should post a new thread for artists to show their "live" style. Mine is quite different from what I've been posting here. (if you're the curious type I have some live samples in the new members section under "vtslim revealed) In fact, all the pictures you've seen from me this past week or so have been a totally new way of drawing for me! I haven't done any studio caricatures in years I was so busy with my live stuff. I stumbled onto a really quick way to color in photoshop by examining how one of my favorite comics artists, Adam Hughes, colors his own stuff. I'll post a tutorial one of these days...I still have a few of you mugs to draw and then I have been commissioned by a local coffeeshop to draw their staff to display. Because of these websites I am so fired up!

Hey slim...agian.
Yup SeaWorld. Unfortunately I do not have any examples of my "live" work. Mainly because I sold it, and i never brought a camera, which my co-workers kept urging me to do so, but I never listened. My style in the park was somewhat similar to the sketch I did of single serving Jack and of you. those two took a little longer than a park sketch, but its about the same. my lines in the park were perhaps a little bolder, but, similar. to give you an idea. I have already glanced at your postcard, very interesting. Nice work. have fun with those coffee shop things. I wish I could get something like that! GREAT opportunity.

Ah...I'm awake now! Time to once again feast on the brains of the living...I...uh...did I just say that out loud? Just...um...kidding folks (heh heh) So Chris, I only got one lonely picture so far. Hmmm...maybe if I just reply and blather on about nothing my post will shoot back to main priority. Yeah, that's the ticket! The Blather Ticket! ALL ABOARD! I LOVE Pitt brush pens! When the Design markers vanished off the FACE OF THE FREAKIN EARTH a year or two ago I nosedived into a panic! I tried all sorts of markers and pens and they were all crap-o-la. Until I found the wonderful Pitt Brush Pen (kiss kiss). When I draw Live I draw the outlines with my Pitt, then I do the interiors with a .08 micron and a .03 micron. That's my recipe. I color with prismacolor pencils since it has become harder to find the color sticks I like. -Blah Blah Blah Slim (that's me saying blah)

Hey Slim, your madder than a bag of monkeys but you layed down a great tutorial there about the colouring. I think I'm gonna use that alot from now on. Heres a shot at you using the same method. I've shown the b/w version too. Looking back, I need to work on the shading a bit more. C ;D
