Meet and Greet with Neil

Hello all you wonderful people! I have been a member of this site for about 2 weeks and I am having a blast. I have never drawn so much in my whole life.
I am 38 (not 40 as my profile says) I am married with 2 wonderful kids. Noel is 15 and Addi is 19 months. My wife Allison is a 4th Grade Teacher here in Lampasas, Texas. I stay at home with my daughter. It's a long story, but here is a short version. My son Noel has Duchenne Muscular Dystropy and because of his disease he has to have insurance to cover all of the doctor visits and expensive medical equipment. If I worked he would lose his insurance. It's a government program called CHIPS and with my wife's income we are right on the cusp of being denied. So... I stay home and take care of Addi. This is how I came across Virtual Art. I have always loved caricature and I have tried my hand at it in the past with not much success. I hope this site helps me tap my potential. I just want to say this too. In 2000 Noel got a Make A Wish Trip to Florida and we had his caricature done at Seaworld. Ever since then Noel has fallen in love with caricatures. If its not asking to much I hope some of you wonderful artist can do his picture. He would be thrilled. Sorry if this intro was to long and kinda depressing. I wanted to tell about myself and I guess that my life is my wife and kids. Thanks for having me here-Neil

Neil, I for one would be happy to do a pic of Noel, just start a new thread down in 'now draw this' and post some good photos of him, and I wanna see one from you there, too!

Welcome Neil! I too had always loved caricatures but could never get the hang of it. I still don't quite have the hang of it but I love drawing them. Hang in there and keep at it. You have no place to go but up!

Hey Neil Welcome! Hey, you said you came down to SeaWorld Orlando to get a caricature? well, I used to work there! while I dont think I was the one to draw your son(didnt work there until 2003). I always enjoyed those types of draws because it made me realize just how happy you can make someone. Glad to know that caricatures can brighten someones day! always a good feeling! anyways, like dave, I would also enjoy drawing your son! Welcome to the board and keep up the good work, youll come along nicely!
