I try not to hang with people named Scott. They can be a bad influence, and I've enough bad influences with a best friend named "Alfie."
I'm a professional designer and artist, with a background in the print field. August 17th will mark the 10th anniversary of quitting my full-time job and beginning the lunacy of self-employment as a graphics designer. I'd be really wealthy right now if 1) I didn't spend so much and 2) more people sent me money just because I'm nice, and 3) was a brain surgeon instead of an artist.
I do cartoon, but mostly for my own pleasure, not for sale. I do NOT do characatures, and would spoil my own style if I even attempted it. My work is mostly digital, though in my studio I do have a traditional painting and drawing table, which gets a fair amount of usage. My cartoons hang on many walls and sell for more than they ought in local Atlanta stores.
I love to see other people's art, and admire people who can draw, paint, play an instrument, and balance a checkbook - three of which I'm decent at, one of which is not going to happen in my lifetime.
