Awesome Mole! Some of you punk rockers (is that what they're called now?) need to have this tatooed on your face. ;D Everyone will think you're da' bomb! Mikey

these caricatures are helping me to be inspired. I've been trying to capture Goldie for the last while, done several drawings, not happy with any of them. She's changed a lot since the Laugh-in days. Her eyes, significantly, have changed from a very round open shape to a narrower almond shape, and much droopier at the corners. I have been busy, and my scanner isn't working (can't figure out why it tells me there's no drive), so I've gotten behind in my posting. BTW, the name of the little guy who fell off the tricycle is Artie Johnson. He also did the German army character, and the Norwegian with the cableknit sweater who didn't speak English (my mother, a Norwegian named Johnson no relation, loved that character!). I loved that show...seems pretty tame nowadays, though, doesn't it?

Light, I think your second one is a better likeness than your first; it inspired me to give her another shot using the input from Don. Tooned, I almost fell out of my chair when I looked at the one you did. ;D

Larry I agree, I find that Goldie and Morgan Freeman are the hardest I have done. Don's critics are invaluable as are others on this forum. It is amazing how I cannot see what others can.

Larry: I think your shading has come along way. I think in some cases you are jumping the gun a bit. Try to get the proportions of the face measured a bit more and established before committing to all the work you put in to it. You can do several quick shapes and roughs to get you in the right direction. Just a few thoughts that I hope will help (are you out there lighthouse? er shifter)

Thanks for your suggestions Dan. I think I will try them on the next drawing I do tomorrow.
