Let's tell everyone a little about ourselves where art is concerned.

I don't have much background other than loving to draw for as long as I can remember. I started airbrushing when I was 15 (16 years ago), I continue to airbrush as a hobby. I never took any art classes in school so I am trying to make up for that now. I did web/graphic design for about 5 years for the company I worked for at the time, this really brought to my attention that I need to work on my drawing skills. I am self tought in those areas as well. I started drawing caricatures when I found a class on the Internet in July.
My art interests are pretty broad, I mostly work with graphite, but I would like to learn more about using colored pencils and markers. I love drawing cartoons and would like to get more involved with manga and fantasy type drawings as well.

The art I love most relies on near mathematical presicion with a mouse and keyboard - 3D and 2D computer-aided modelling and design. I'll post some stuff as soon as I can figure out where But that's not to say I'm not useless with pencil and paper - or even paint, chalk, pastel, whatever. I love art in any form; music, computer program coding (it is indeed an art form to some), drawing & doodling, web design, writing etc. I like art mainly because anything goes, and quite often the weirder it looks the better it is ;D

Well, when it comes to art I've tried it all, it's taken me years to settle on something, which you all know is Anime. Writing fiction also is one of my hobbies, having over 10 short stories, two novels and one saga, and I'm working at all of them at once, I can't concentrate on one... Anyway sporting wist I'm into rock climbing, as is Enigma. And we would recomend it to anyone who wants a change

I used to go rock climbing before I had kids. We would go about twice a month. Not real rock climbing, the place is an old stone query (sp?) that was turned into a training center for climbing and repelling. It's called Virtual Reality, I love the name.

How I got into Caricatures.. I used to make cartoons of co-workers at work using paint on the computer. I quit for a while because I made one them angry one day....and was told to grow up...... After thinking about it real hard I drew another one and at the top It read I refuse to grow up......so I am always looking for better ways to draw..Just want to be the best that I can...I love Caricatures...

Okay, I personlay am just a fan of drawing, whatever I please at the moment. Latley I have been working on a little comic for school (I am in grade 12), I've only taken art for 2 years, this year and last. Most of my art is japanese inspired, but it's adapted into my own style my teacher tells me.
I've never done caricature's before, well kind of but they weren't proper ones. So Hopefully I'm not to bad at it ^^

Ok my bavkground. I have had no real art training.Everything i know has been self taught through a lot of practice.I always found hands early on the most difficult. I remember as a kid knowing when i got older i was going to be a cartoonist. But it did take awhile for me to be confident enough with my toons to try and make money. Now i am building my cartoonist business up to the stage where i am very busy. I have been published in Magazine,on posters. At the moment i am doing illustrations to a how to buy real estae book.I have done a kids book illustration that is yet to be published.I would like to do more kids books.I have also done several murals. Anyone who wants to make a living from toons, need to understand that its a business.I am hopeless with the business side.Fortunatly my wife is very good.So its not all drawing and having fun.But i love it,and its very rewarding. I have a long way to go before i can sit back i say i have succeeded in this industry. But i have met some great people, and continue to learn. Also over Christmas time i paint cartoon Christmas windows on shops. They are very popular, and a great little Christmas bonus.I charge from $50-$400 a window.Maybe some of you can do that over Christmas in your area? Anyway thats just a little bit about what i do.I may be in the U.S in may to attend the Ruben awards with some fellow Aussie cartoonist.Would love to meet some of you. Cheers Grant

I used to airbrush windows at local businesses at Christmas time. They always wanted them on the outside of the window and I don't like the cold, so I quit doing them. Sounds like you're doing well for yourself, good for you!

i just want to let everyone know that when they read my messages, i just hate capitalization. i type very fast, and i'm very impatient...sorry if it looks odd. anyway, my art background...i work in an art gallery. so i get to talk to a lot of different artists. i have always loved comics and cartoons. i still collect comics (does anyone still remember howard the duck? the comic, not the movie!). when i was a kid, i would copy from mad magazine. i have always loved caricature. a few years ago, i took a class, just for fun, on drawing cartoons. i discovered i loved caricatures most of all. the instructor approached me about doing a trade show, drawing caricatures. i was very nervous, but i did it. and i loved it! so i've been doodling cartoons for people for a few years. last year, i was involved in an exhibit at a gallery, showing my zine, and teaching a workshop on how to create a zine. it was fabulous. just recently, i've been taking a course on caricature...i really want to improve and get better, and learn from some really great artists. check out the work of sebastian kruger, jan opdebeeck, and mauri barnett...i think they're three of the best. i do have other interests. i run...not very fast, but i love to run. i did a 5K last year...but don't laugh at my time! i ran it in 47 minutes. considering that i'd never run a race before, i was pleased that i finished. now, i run daily. i love fantasy and science fiction (please bring back farscape!) and true crime. i also love fashion...i probably have way too many shoes. i read a lot of fashion magazines. it's winter here in canada...so it's frigid outside (-45 celsius). i'm staying inside till june.
