Close to the eastern shores of Lake Ontario is a cool spot called the Bay of Quinte. We stopped by a B and B in that area, went for a walk and I discovered this scene I had to paint mid morning. It was done from sketches and digital photo reference months later.

first class, Dan, that's beautiful! that level of watercolor skill takes a lot of work to achieve. I'd tip my hat if I had one!

You handled this picture quite nicely. The blue in the water and the purple in the fench posts work very well together. You handle the medium like a master!

You know I have a soft spot for watercolor. This is very nice, well done. Looks just like the place, been there. Mike N.

thanks for the positive comments folks I got hooked in the early 90's on this fascinating medium and have never looked back. I can tell you I have used 100's of sheets of paper and a ton of experimentation and trial (all fun) They say you have to paint a 100 paintings to come up with anything half decent. so with anything it is all practice and effort . Watercolour is a very unforgiving medium as you know.
