I got a new 9 x12" artistico fabriano watercolour pad. This is the first time using this new paper. It has a nice texture and feel to it, similar to Arches. I also tried scanning this painting with very poor contrasty results, so I took a digital photo and the colours translate much better

thanks for the comments folks. Terry this is taken from a photo and memory. What I enjoyed about doing this was I forced myself to use a rather big brush for most of it. A 1" wash brush really. It is amazing what you can do when you use the edge of these things...you get a different effect than with a fine round brush. It forces you to stay loose and not get so fiddly and detail the thing to death...

I've got to try the big brush with watercolor, I read several articales about this style. I'll give it a shot.
