Any Metallica fans out there?
This is a scan of one of the oil paintings I did back in high school (centuries ago) for a very dear friend of mine that had a
thing for James Hetfield, the singer/guitarist from Metallica!
(after I did the paintings for her she realized I had a thing for her! Hee Hee!)

Since each of these oil paintings are 16"x 20" I had to scan them in 4 pieces and then
blend them back together in PSP8!)

(As you may have noticed the girl that I painted this for DID NOT care for the band Poison at all!
Some crazy stuff! LMAO)



This is another oil painting I did at the same time as the other Metallica pics!
This one is of Kirk Hammett, lead guitarist of the band, and it was the first and only black and white (oil) painting that I had ever
done!
You would think that without all the other colors missing that it would be much easier to paint, well I can say that it was much harder
to get the proper tones of gray to match the photo that I used as a "go by"!

Thanks a million, Klaatu!!! Yeah I use actually proud (which never happens) of the way the first and second ones came out! I just wish I still had the photos that I used as reference just to show you guys just how close I actually got to the originals! LMAO And I guess you could say that my hard work did pay off with the girl! She has been my best friend for almost 19 years now!

I am truly honored to be able to show my artwork to others, but being able to show my work to other artist who aren't afraid to express how they feel about a certain piece, is something I have been needing!!!
I think it's great how you guys(& gals) so generously
share your work and are happy to lend a hand or give a suggestion without hesitating!
And to be honest, there are a lot of you here that I have admired for a long time! (seeing you work on line or in books, etc) and I would have never thought I would be on the same board and actually interacting with any of you! You all are pretty down to earth and should give yourselves a pat on the back for being that way!!!


Oh, and BTW excellent likeness of James DM!! I really like your style....very clean!

Dr - great metallica paintings! I was lucky enough to see them in concert, twice. That was a long time ago though. I like the second one the best, it just screams Hetfield. The black and white is really nice as well (they are all good, those two are my favorites though).
