in keeping with the angel series, here's yet another one. i wanted to use it for valentine's day, but didn't quite get finished. i've decided to do a series of five angels, all connected to holidays somehow.

I love it! Do you use a model for your drawings?

i have used models on some of my drawings, (blaze has posed many times for characters!) but on this one, i resorted to using a few different photo references. i found a hair ad with the curly hair, i used the position of the face from another ad, and i combined it with a renaissance painting by tiziano, where i liked the features specifically, and the drapery. the pen technique is ballpoint pen and marker. i want each angel to have the same linear quality, but a different face. so the next one i will use a man for a model.

oooh are you going to colour these? i love the hair it gives her character you know? although if it were me i would have had the eyes and nose slightly further up her face, it has a really strong and calm sort of mood this way... i really really like this.

Will all of these be made into greeting cards?
