did you have a reference photo, or have you just loved him so long that his image is permanently burned onto your brain?

Toonmom, I did this in about 15 or 20 minutes. I really didn't want to study Renaissance art, and Bruno (Bruce Willis) is so much more interesting... Don, yes, his image is permanently burned into my brain. ~sigh~ i have a sketchbook filled with drawings of him...does that count as obsession? Mauri, thank you for the compliment. I used a photo, which basically had the shadows, but I added more contrast, and eliminated some shadows I thought didn't help the drawing. And I chose to use pen, to create more contrast, rather than the grey shadows in the photo. Thankee all!

yeah, years ago i used to do a lot of drawings in that stark black-and-white-only kind of style. i think it's a really cool look. and you've executed it well here.
