My scanner has been replaced - now I can get some 'work' done. This was a kid I drew earlier this summer at the San Antonio Zoo. He rejected the drawing because he didn't like his teeth showing. He also wanted it in color but Grandma wouldn't budge. Oh well - you can't win them all.

He was just self-consicence about his teeth. He should have smiled with his mouth closed and there wouldn't be any problem. But then I wouldn't have it to share!

I wanted to do that Grant - but I mantained my composure, took the offending caricature home, waited for months to go by until the day that I replaced my scanner. Then I promptly scanned it in and posted it on the WORLD WIDE WEB for millions upon millions to mock and laugh in a mockingly type laugh at him and his descendants, yea verily, even unto the third and fourth generations! Plus, I kinda rolled my eyes a little when I thought nobody might see.

Nice, was this in color and scanned in black an white? just curious...or do you shade your black and whites? dont really know what the problem was, dosnt look that exagerated, ive drawn people WAY worse than that and they hardley bat an eye at it! haha. some people are dumb...so you work at a zoo? do you have your own contract there or what?

Chris, it was drawn just the way you see it. Shaded with a graphite stick. I prefer to leave b/w as just line art like Kaman's, but the lady who has the zoo prefers this way.
It's not my contract it's her CONTACT. She knows the manager and has an agreement with him. She (or I through her) can draw when we are available. It's not a permanent stand - so if we aren't available then there aren't any caris.
She works there most of the summer and it's NOT busy enough for a second artist except for special occasions - spring break, etc.
It seems like exagerration doesn't sit well with people here. i know guys that have tried it at SF and they always make more $$ when they don't do it. Works well for me since I'm not much of an exaggerater; more of a cartoonist really.
You can see I barely showed that he had a gap in front, but he didn't want it shown AT ALL. Since I'm not the 'Psychicaricaturist' I just drew what I saw.
