Those are some nice drawings you have there. Do work as an artist? Hey ToonMom, Wow, you can see them? All I get is "forbidden." No, I'm a Radio Guy who does a lot of gaming. I've had a few things up on the web (most recently a monster portrait for the Wanderer's Guild- www.wanderersguild.com/hilldabo.htm and I'm also involved with their upcoming pdf project). I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil, but I've never been happy with my work. My goal when drawing is to make it look like it could be animated-something sharp and clear with the minimum of detail (I admire the work of Chuck Jones and Al Hirschfeld for that quality), something I don't always achieve. Dunno why, something just don't click with me. But I perevere... Anyway, thanks. It's great to be here and I hope to learn from this board. -SJ

I copied and pasted them in the address and they show up. CyberTarp isn't allowing them to show for some reason. Everyone switched to photobucket. I like your work. You have a clean crisp style, I like that. I hope you like it here, everyone is real friendly so make yourself at home. If you have any questions just hollar, PM me if you need to.

Hey ToonMom, Thanks. It's consistency I'm working on now. As for my line, I work the basic line to get variation. I never got along with dip pens (plus I like to be able to take my pens with me), so I use a .50 Rapidograph with a Faber-Castell Pitt brushpen for black fills. My paper is either copy paper, bristol or card stock. -SJ

Great work, very strong lines. If i can make one comment on your first toon. The gag at the end is a visual gag.I had trouble making out what was on the beer.I think the candle needs to be bigger and really stand out.Just a thought, hope you do not mind the opinion. But great work. Cheers Grant

SJ: i totally dig your style. as i was looking at it, i thot; this looks like hirschfeld, with a little bit of chuck jones! so it's cool that you're a fan of their stuff. i don't like dip pens, either...i've tried some of the faber pens, and i like them. thanks for sharing the tip!

Hey stoon, Thanks. You might want to try Micron Pigma pens. too. They're good, sturdy, disposable pens with archival ink that really holds up. Most of my work, until recently, has been with them. I switched because I finally decided to make an investment in a good pen (I got tired of having to buy them). -SJ
