Here's my next portrait... Here's the reference photo: and my initial WIP - I know it's just an eye but wait, she'll come to life soon (I hope). Please, comments, feedback, and suggestions are welcomed. Thanks, Ricky

Hey...nice touch! I would open her mouth a little more. Also be aware the bulb of her nose is just a little bigger and squarer than you have it. I am quite impressed. You really got her eyes right. Most people would try to draw them symmetrical "just like in art class" but...newsflash!...people are NOT symmetrical. Great Job! Ooh! Her left (on your right) iris is just a bit too small. Try stretching the left side a little to the left and re-centering the pupil. Try it on tracing paper. I think you will go...ooh. This is your best portrait yet! Very Classy!

that is an excellent likeness to the photo. only problem is, i don't find the photo particularly representative of what ms. winslett actually looks like. it over-glamourizes her, in my opinion. but as far as reproducing that particular picture goes, good job!

yeah, maybe i wasn't clear on this: i do think she's a beautiful woman. i just think the photo is touched up to the point where her natural beauty no longer shows through the gloss. it could be just about any beautiful woman in that picture.

hey, thanks slim, tooned, joey, klaatu, and don....really means a lot you guys. Don I know exactly what you mean. Apparently, Ms. Winslet also had to "slim" down for some more glamorous movie roles. I think she looked better when she was younger and more fuller looking. She looked natural now she looks like a hollywood puppet. Here's an update: Thanks, Ricky

Absolutely beautiful, Rick! Bravo!! My only suggestion, and maybe you're already planning this, is a more definate line separating the cheek and hair on the left side, like the forehead. Forgive me if I spoke too soon. Place several clapping smileyfaces here.
