Anyone with Kids will tell you that their favorite subject for drawing, is their own children. I'm no exception. Heres the latest in a long line of portraits I've done of my son. C. ;D

Thanks for the praise guys, very kind. Ricky, I dont use any sort of proportion aids, its all free hand and by eye. It takes me forever though, I never get it right first time. its all mapped out quite lightly with alot of erasing until i'm happy then I build up the shading gradually. I have a few more portraits on the site, feel free to have a look. craigrogalski.tripod.com/id6.htmlC. ;D

I know what you mean with freehand taking for ever. the Kate winslet portrait I'm doing is taking me at least 20 hours so far. I'm thinking it's going to take my about 100 total for she's completely finished. But it's great isn't it. To be able to do a portrait of such a precious subject as your own children. I don't have any of my own (yet) but they are the BEST subjects. Thank you for sharing this one of your little one. Ricky
