Hi Everyone, Here's my newest portrait. It's of Lindsay Lohan. Here's the link to the reference photo: lindsaylohan.celebscentral.net/photo/28443/Here's some scans of my progress. This is about 12 hours into the drawing. Ricky

great work ricky!! my only two crits are that you made the nose look a bit skew by giving her more nostril on our right side then on the left. the other thing is that the mouth doesn't seem quite right as far as the expression. if you adjusted these two things i think it would make for a better likeness. it's a great piece though. the pencil work is excellent. great job on the hair so far. have you ever tried a fully shaded caricature kinda like this?

Hi Jong, thanks so much. I still have some adjustments to make. I haven't tried to do a fully shaded caricature. I know that my caricatures would come out a lot better if I just spend as much time doing them as I do with my portraits. I try to run before I can even crawl so to speak when it comes to caricatures. It's a bad habit I need to get out of. I know that the only way I'll get better at caricatures is by doing more of them. After this portrait I want to try another caricature but really spend time on it and see what I can come up with. Thanks for your tips and valuable critique. It helps having another set of "eyes". Ricky

Hey Ricky! It looks like you are off to a great start. I'd love to see what a full-blown caricature from you would look like. Maybe that will be your next project?

Thanks toonmom. I'm going to tackle a caricature next I think. I want to revisit them, I really miss them. It's funny I think doing caricatures make me a better portrait artist because you really need to "see" your subject in a different way when doing caricatures and in doing so you're really looking at the person. Horate, great shot my friend. You kind of made her look like Cindy Loo Who from "How the Grinch Stole Christmas". Nice One Here's a final scan of my drawing. Now I'll focus on a caricature. Ricky
