This tutorial will show you how to make a photograph look like a cartoon image from a comic strip. Step 1:Open the image you would like to turn into a comic. Duplicate your background layer by dragging it onto the "Create a new layer button". Blur the duplicate layer (Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur) Blur it just enough to soften the image. I used 2.0 Step 2:Duplicate the original background layer again and move the new layer to the top. Apply the Halftone Pattern filter (Filter>Sketch>Halftone Pattern) Adjust the settings to your liking. ( I used, size:2, Contrast:5, Pattern type: Dot) Change the Blending Mode to Overlay and the Opacity to 30%. Step 3:Duplicate the original background layer again and drag the new layer to the top. Apply the Stamp filter (Filter>Sketch>Stamp) Adjust the settings so you can see the details in your photo. I used Light/Dark Balance: 15, Smoothness: 5 Use Gaussian Blur to smooth the edges a bit. Change Blending mode to Overlay and Opacity to 70%. You can also use "Levels" to adjust the thickness of the lines on your "stamp" layer. Finished Images(image without "halftone" layer)
