I spent some time today using photoshop to create a simple logo for my website that im going to build sometime soon. It was the first time I used photoshop for anything other than scanning and general fiddling about. So heres a coloured version: and a simpler black and white version: Just thought Id share it with you, and see your comments on it.

It's a nice, simple, effective design - perfect for a logo.

yeah, i like it. one minor criticism, if i may... i think the finger on top of the pencil should be longer than the thumb on the bottom.

Thanks Toonmom and Don. I corrected the finger a bit pretty hard to do with the mouse, I need a tablet, but they cost £100 where I live. So im just gonna have to save up.

Thanks for the feedback Hans. Ive got the colours as close to the original as I could get. Im just experimenting in photoshop at the moment. So I dont really remember all the settings I use and the colours. Here it is with the original colours

Didn't you use layers?

Yeah, I used layers. But the layers were only for the black and white version, which is the one I based the colour version from. The colour version with the 3d "beveled" effect on the character was just an experimentation with photoshops effect features.
