Is anyone following this show? I am watching it for the first time. I have seen all the episodes so far for this season (AI3). So far it has been pretty entertaining to say the least. Some of those people are just plain funny!

i'm gonna throw my two cents in. i love american idol. watched the second season faithfully...fell in love with ruben during the auditions, and was very excited to see him go all the way.
this has been a good season, but i don't think there's been anyone that's captured my attention so completely as ruben did last year. usually, the personalities and talent starts showing up more during the second round. i do like jasmine, the "little girl with the big voice", and scooter girl...but i'm not sure if they'll be able to handle the pressure of auditions and performing. for guys, i like bao-yee, the fellow whose parents came from thailand on a boat. i liked his energy, and i think his parents have a great story to tell. and i liked the hawaiian dude, the rapper. thot he was funny.
i admit, i thot william hung (the chinese fellow who sang "she bangs" was likeable, even if he couldn't sing.
can't wait for next week's shows!

i've been watching AI3 with mom as well...
I have to say tho, tonight's eppy - I was really surprised and kind of dismayed at the cuts and what they decided to show.
I wanted to see the big guy(the one that looked like a young version of Cedric the entertainer) perform and they didn't show him ONCE, next thing we know he's cut! i'm glad francescha barrino(i think that's her name and how it's spelled O.o:) stayed - I really like her, but I don't understand their decision with cutting Nicole Tieri or Jasmine at all and keeping ones like Kira Scott(the rude girl) in there at times, or Alan Richson.
I think I'll continue watching but I think they chose to focus on some people too much and others not at all, and I think the judges made horrible cuts in tonight's eppy. :\

i totally agree, blaze. i kept hoping that lisa and alan (the hot tub people) would get cut, but they're still in. what's up with that? i was surprised at some of the choices...they kept kira, and lisa, and alan, and the redheaded kid, the one who sounds like frank sinatra. he can sing, but he's too young and can't seem to handle the pressure.
interesting question was posed to me by someone (blaze, you know who he is); what happens to the show if there's no one good enough to make it to the top 10? any thots, fellow fans?

I think the hot tub couple did get cut, didn't they? There are really only a couple of them that I really like. One is Amy Adams (the pink haired girl), she has a great voice and the blonde haired girl, don't know her name. I don't care too much for the guys on there, they have too much attitude. The big guy from Hawaii is ok, but I don't think he has that good of a voice. Of course, I can only go by what makes me take the effert to turn my head and actually look at the TV  . Also, I'm sort of glad "scooter girl" is gone, she was a little over-the-top for me. |

having looked at the profiles of the final 32 i hardly recognise anyone
why havent they been shown more
all the good people are shown in the audition stages here in the UK

you may be right, toonmom...i think lisa is gone. i'm not sure about alan...i think he's still in. i'm glad scooter girl is gone. i thot she was a pretty good singer, but she was a little freaky...i thot she had some problems that would really work against her. and i have to say this: i hated the joker makeup she wore!
i do kind of like george huff...and i'm glad michael is gone. he's the one who grabbed the mike after the trio sang, and petitioned the judges to let him stay in! what a jerk!

I'm looking at the website and I think Elizabeth LeTendre is the one I like. The picture looks like her. There are 32 contestants shown on the site, that's how many are left right? Lisa is still there according to this, I thought she was gone. Here's the link to the site: American IdolI don't see Alan on there. Maybe I seen him with another dark haired girl and assumed it was Lisa. I'm glad Michael is gone too. How much can a person talk about themselves anyways? All he ever said is how he is so much better than any contestant ever. I sort of like Matthew Rogers, but his attitude is too much as well. |

i really like fantasia. great name, funny, very talented. she's different, too. i hope she goes far. it would be good to see her in the top 10.
i miss ruben and clay, though. there just doesn't seem to be anyone that has captured my attention like they did. maybe someone will shine during the rounds to get to the top 10.

some comments on last night's episode. the more i see of fantasia, the more i like her. i'm hoping it's fantasia and diana who go on to the next round. i was not impressed with ashley or matthew (the guy who sang the bob seger song). they don't seem to really shine. i didn't even remember who ashley was, and then they showed the clip of simon saying she had no spark. i think that's true. she's dull...nothing outstanding about her look or her voice.
this is the most interesting part of american idol. i love watching the candidates go thru to the next round, or get dumped! it's so exciting.

i have definitely decided that my two favourites are fantasia and diana. when they showed the next 8, i couldn't remember who they are. so no one outstanding in that group, but i'll watch the show anyway!
i think it's amazing that diana is only 16, and she's competing against older people, and she's got such stage presence. just needs to ditch the whole pink and black thing, though. that's too cutesy.
fantasia...it would be awesome if she emerged as the idol!
