I'm not happy with myself yet, I mean, I want to get fast but good as well. Today I went to the coffee shop and brough my cronometer with me. This are the results of this experiment. I show them to you, not because they are good , but because I, personally, think they suck, but, what do you think?m comments? some advice to achieve my goal?: I mean, I'm not gifted as Andreas Otto, or as Marc de Roo, but I just want to get there! Please help me düdes, your advice? RC

Robin good challenge ,time doesn`t exist, but, anyway, my opinion: all said here is To Me, only my opinion..... Stella :not like the photo,(very difficult subject, see face angle), outlines combination not the better.in general poor.also much time. Mandy : i like the likeness here, i m not sure about the asymetrical result, if it was done thinking of, i think the photo is more symetrical.
Marisa i like, outlines and general result, time is better here.
Mari, this one is very well made, maybe this face is more easy to exagerate the exact points, Time?
Macarthney, very hilarious and well made, to me this one is difficult subject, time is good, i think 4 mn or even 3 mn is the best time for soemthing like this. Pink , mmm, not sure of likeness, good time,
Shakira , i like the result but the photo i thinkcould be best.maybe the bold trace i don´t like in the way it was made.to copmbine bold and fine lines is good idea to do, but trying to maintan the general movement of the general vision, to give a rythm.
Good serie Robin and good idea to put the time, continue.

it seems to me you're too focused on getting faster. don't put that kind of pressure on yourself. focus first on getting good, solid likenesses. as you practice that, speed just happens.

Horate, Don and Club, thanx a lot for your comments. About Mary Kate Olsen, time was 5 minutes and 40 secs., I didn't notice I forgot to write it down, I forgot 'cause of the hurry . That's true, better to focus on quality and likeness instead of trying to beat the clock. By the way, I used felt-tip pen on these ones, but after comparing with previous work, I decided to go back to fine point sharpies, which give more varied weighted lines, felt-tips seem to give flat boring lines which I don't like. That's why the bold line in Shakira, which I did with the chisel point marker looks that ugly, I agree with Horate on that. I just wonder, how long did it take Andreas Otto to get that fast?, the guy is amazing, thanx again for your advice. RC

Don is right speed comes after time. How fast is Andreas? And really who cares anyway? Everybody learns differently and at different rates. I've seen some guys on the internet that are awesome artists - but when you look at their live work it's horrible. Because they have a different set of skills. Some guys can exaggerate like they can breath and others can't at all. Some draw cartoony and others draw realistic.
You're not Andreas. You're not Kreugar. You're not Don Pinsent. You're Robin Crazy!
Nothing wrong with that at all. Just try to be a better version of yourself instead of being somebody else. Improve your OWN skills and remember - your speed WILL get faster. Do speed drills once in awhile - nothing wrong with. But first and foremost work likeness - your speed WILL get faster. Imitate artists that you like and turn it into your own thing, and work on likeness - your speed WILL get faster.
