Hey Gang!
I've been bitten by the upgrade bug but I need more data before I take the dive.
I currently use a Graphire but have been reading about all of the glorious features of the new Intuos3 tablets.
The additional resolution appears to be a plus but I'm not totally convinced that it will arrive and I will be blown away.
I'm looking for reviews. Thanks in advance.

Up grade, UP grade...... I love to up grade! Hi Mike I have used my Intuos 2 9X12 for less then a year now, and it is a good board. It does fine work. you can't go wrong. You of all people should up grade. You would be someone who could make it sing, and make you sing too! I all along wanted to own a CintiQ 15x wacom board. But I could not wait, so I bought the Intuos 2. Which I Love it! The price was not as much so I got it! You might know that I just bought CintiQ 15x in October. I got a very good price for it and took the jump and spent the money. Now that I have both I need to sell my Intuos 2 9X12 to help pay for the new one. It's all in good shape and I have it all in the box ready to sell. So if you or anyone wants it, I plan to offer it for a very good price. I am thinking I should ask for $300. Maybe you can make me an offer. It look like new and I bought it for $500. Now that I offer that, let me now share something that is good information but it will not help me sell my board! Being that I have used both drawing boards I can share a big differents for me. With the CintiQ, I need not have to do a sketch or my inking before I use my board. I found it much harder to do it to my liking, so I would always scan in, and that would mean an extra two steps. With the a CintiQ you have all control with the pen to match up all lines easily. You are touching on the very pixcel you want! This makes it all worth it! I do email caricatures on my website and now I do not need to use paper, pens or scanner. Everthing is much easyer now, and I enjoy it, it's all fun now! The Intuos 2 9X12 really works very well for the feel, flow, and the quality, it's just this one thing that CintiQ offers that really makes it worth wiled. So, you should up grade, just how much are you ready to spend! Hope this is helpful Mike N.

The main feature on the new Intuos3 is the touchpads on both sides of the drawing area.2 real touch-stripes as you know from portable computers, and 4 buttons, all can be programmed as you want. The two touchstrips are wonderfull for zooming and scrolling. The others for undo, brush size moveing, fill deselect, invert selection... In fact I only use my keyboard for writing, and filling in the filenames, avery time I do a "save as" Could not miss it anymore. Just the painter essentials2 that comes with it,...well keep your version of whatever painter on your computer. While you're at it ,splash out for the airbrush pen as well, you won't regret it... unless you're as rich as Mike and Grant ;D ,then you'll go for the Cintiq.

My Intuos 2 dose have these buttons as well, just not on both sides, but across the top. And yes I have used these for programing quick changes to make for a easyer work. This is a nice feature on the board.
Oh and now that I have made everyone think I am rich, I must now confess that I am now poor after buying my new drawing board.
But I am a very very happy poor person! ;D
