ebeth, no rush on the tablets. Paper is fine for now until you get used to drawing caricatures. I bought a WACOM Graphire3 tablet last year, I do love it but I only used it maybe once or twice, REASON: I don't feel comfortable drawing caricatures yet. I want to first learn to get the knack for exaggeration before moving on to the tablet. For now, no rush - have fun drawing on paper, build up your confidence. Don't forget to share your drawings. Everyone here is wonderful. What you learn here is invaluable. You'll not only learn to draw caricatures here but you'll also make lots of friends too. ENJOY!!!! Ricky

Thanks guys, for the advice. Paper is definately going to be my main focus, but I thought a tablet could be fun. I'm taking Mauri's course, and am working on eyes. It's crazy looking from one page to the next, looking at old drawing I've done and seeing the difference!!! Anyway, not that I'm ready to do this yet, and I'm not sure this is the place to post this question... (still not totally used to the way a forum works, just figured out that some have several pages, and I was only looking at the first one!!!) but, when I am ready, how do I post my drawings?? I swear I'll figure this scarey machine out!!! Thanks again!!! Ebeth

Hans: I hope you don't mind but I frequent your site often. I really love the digital caricatures and the WACOM tablet. I have one but to be honest, I've only used it maybe once or twice. (I know I'm a bad boy) anyways, I don't really know anyone else who uses the tablet to do caricatures (and forgive me everyone if I missed this fact about you). My question is do you first draw on paper then scan it into the tablet or do you draw right on the tablet. Your caricatures come out so "clean" and natural like it was painted on canvas. I've seen your tutorials (which are great by the way - thank you for posting them). Basically I want to learn all I can about digital caricatures. (please everyone I mean disrespect to hand drawn caricatures, I love those as well but being a computer geek I've fallen in love with digital drawings and computer animation). Thanks, Ricky

I still draw on paper,I want to change that but I've always done a drawing before I think"you've done it again! use the computer, save paper." I would really want to see the pile of paper I have used,or the trees that went into it!It's a shame really. But I can't help it. Now I usually paint with the wet acryllic brush in painter, and this has indeed a canvas feel to it.See the detail of the eye I showed in the caricature gallery (newest-topic)
