Hello, i'm a noob. Just starting out and would like to know what kind of markers you guys prefer? have i seen one called "makkette" or something? I yhink they had a brush-type tip. thanks

It's a 'Markette' - made by Dixon in Canada. It's very hard to find outside of Canada. Alot of caricaturists DON'T use this Markette. There are TONS of brush markers available. Find one that you can use comfortably and can get various lines with.
It's not the marker - it's the artist.

the markette is the best marker for caricatures....its identical too desin 229lf....and last longer as well.....they are sold in canada but there is place in the states you can purchase markettes....
and the best markers for colors are tombow watercolor markers

..but where in texas? i found a candian place a wk ago,, on the net but they are out of stock of markettes 690 i am scraping the stored tupperware to find any 229-lf left...just lvove the line it provides and no brush pens seem to offer same...thks for any sites

In Texas (or anywhere I guess) you can order Markettes from Herwecks in San Antonio. You won't find it listed on the website, but they DO carry them. Just call in to oder some. Although, last time I checked (JULY 06) they were out and waiting on an order to come in.
