Do you get in rut???

Because I still learning this crazy art I try and pay close attention to the others on this board, You are all my teachers, thanks. However I have noticed some of the best seem to use the same gimick in their drawing, the same large mouth, the same small forehead, etc. Some times these just seem to be out of place for the person they are drawing. Is there such a thing as a style rut?
I would like to know others opinion on this.

to the best of my knowledge, i don't suffer from this. if i do let me know. i guess that's the problem with what you're describing. anyone who does use the same elements all the time probably doesn't even realize they do it. i have noticed it with some artists, though. i don't know whether it's a conscious "style" thing or something they don't realize they do.

I have noticed this as well Light. I am curious as to what others have to say about it. No Don, I haven't noticed it in your work.
