Price fixing is illegal I belive - these are just my opinion so don't think I'm telling anyone what to do.

PAPER: I like using 11x17 - when I rip it off the bar it's 11x14 which is a standard size frame that can be found anywhere. That's convient for the customer.
I know some guys that don't rip it so they can have more drawing area - but the customer will never find an 11x17 frame and probably won't have it made for a quick caricature.
I know some other guys that use regular old 8.5x11.5 - easy to frame but not much drawing area.
PRICES: Of course, only you can find the price that works for you. I can only share my limited experiance and opionin.
First - I like to caution discussing pricing cause things aren't the same everywhere, so what I say here don't really amount to more than my thoughts on the subject.
If you price too low then you WILL get alot of sales and do alot of work and not really make much money. If you price too high you will make some sales and not make too much money.
EXAMPLES:
1) If you do b/w faces for $1 and can draw/sell 20 of them in an hour - you made $20/hour.
2) If you do b/w faces for $20 and can draw/sell 1 of them in an hour - you made $20 an hour.
3) If you do b/w faces for $10 and can draw/sell 2 of them in an hour - you made $20 an hour.
The third option is best IMO - just as an example.
You need 4 pricing/drawing options: 1) b/w face 2) color face 3) b/w face w/body 4) color face w/body - you also need to consider how much for additional people (couples and families).
Here in San Antonio, TX:
At the theme parks they charge (where everything should be a bit higher) - 1) $11 2) $16 3)$16 4)$21
All prices are per person - so a double CF is $32.
Downtown things are just a bit cheaper, but still high - 1) $10 2) $15 3)$15 4)$20
So if I set up a deal at a fair/festival type event I would either use the downtown prices or go a tad bit lower like - 1) $8 2) $13 3)$13 4)$18
If I set up someplace else like a flea market then I might go a tad bit lower again. I would not go lower than - 1) $5 2) $10 3)$10 4)$15 (rock bottom).
It all depends on your area and you and your competition - but these are good starting prices IMO.
Also, if its a little slow do free demos, but make sure they understand they DON'T keep the picture - of course they can buy it if they want.
