You didn't do it with your church?
I can understand fear and everything, but Jesus is waiting. Well maybe not but...
II TIM 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

I told the person in charge of the festival that I would be willing to do the caricatures during kids day when they do face painting and such. I gave them my info, but they never contacted me. I whimped out and didn't persue it any further. I keep telling meself I should wait until I'm better at doing them anyway, I'm still not very good.

If they didn't get back in contact with; then I can understand that you weren't able to do it.
I was under the impression that it was the church that you attended and saw the person on a regular basis.
As far as waiting till you're better - it will NEVER EVER EVER happen.
No matter how good you are - you can always be better; it's a carrot dangling on a string in front of you.
You HAVE TO draw live to be ready and able to draw live. It's a CATCH 22.
Don't worry about how good/bad you THINK you are. If you say "I'm not very good", then you ARE correct. Instead say "I'm not that bad" and you still ARE correct.
Don't be ridiculous and lie to yourself "I'm better that Krueger blah, blah, blah..." You won't convince anybody of stuff like that, including yourself.
Remember: no matter how good/bad you think you are - you are correct. The person you're drawing who can't even draw a stick figure thinks you oughta work for MAD because you're so d**n good at it.

Thanks for the inspiration.
It is the church I go to and my children also go to school there. I am not sure who the contact person is, I didn't ask. I just gave them my name and number in the front office and was told they would contact me. I left it at that. It would have been very easy for me to get in contact with the person in charge, I just whimped out.

Must be one of those big churches. I only like attending smaller congregations where I can know everybody - it's more like a family; and you don't feel intimadated to draw for family. ;D Well anyways - find yourself another oppurtunity and go draw LIVE - nothing beats it! ><> Frank Zieglar <>< -- PURE COMMUNISM: You have two cows. Funny Mike!
It is a big church, we mostly know the parents of classmates and from soccer and baseball. It's right across the street from our house, as is the school.
They have the festival every year, I could try again this year.

Yes, I have done gigs, and lots of them. Unfortunately, since I've been in school, I've been unable to do any. Not much call for it in this small city, and I can't afford to travel back to my hometown to do one. I will work as a street artist over the summer, when I go home. I love it...it's the best practise in the world. Having to draw that many caricatures, in so little time, you really learn what's important to see and what's not. BTW, Frank; the termites were probably already there, the ark was made out of wood. I just wish spiders had been left behind!
