I try to draw everyone here on this board, but I can't scan every drawing I do, I have a reaaally small room stuffed with all my stuff, to scan pictures would take me more time and efford then drawing ten pictures.. (okay that's a bit exaggerated ) Not that you're not worth the effort, but I think it's the view I have about my skills (what skills?) and drawings that makes me think they're not cool enough or something. I realize that what I am saying makes no sense and is really stupid... pfff why do I keep talking.. I make no sense sorry

and then there are a few peoplewho do a whole whack of caricatures and keep forgetting to post a picture. I hate guys like that...If you're going to do caricatures of others, you should let them do a revenge pick...That really burns my...oh crap, I forgot to post a picture.
Erik.
p.s. I haven't done anyone new in a couple weeks, but it's nice to see some new names popping up, with new faces to distort. Just remember, if someone takes the time to make you look stupid, you should take the time to make them look equally stupid. Even if you don't think you are a very good artist, just have fun with it. They will be appreciated.

There will ALWAYS be people who want to take advantage of generosity.
Everybody here likes to draw. Everybody here likes to draw caricatures. Everybody here is going to get taken advantage of sooner or later.
My self, I try not to draw a person unless I'm seeing that they are willing to participate - so I always wait on drawing a new poster.
I intend to draw everybody that hangs around. I never feel like I have do 'return shots' before others though. I just draw whoever is in my computer file first (alphabetical) - unless I targeting someone.
That's way I ended up drawing Alex, Big Ears, etc before getting revenge - but I will to the rest also.
It's also easier for because my drawing are quick - if I was spending more time on them then I would be more particular about who I draw next.
I've been participating for some time on the Loop, but just recently posted my pics - so some people knew me already. Others, however didn't know me and drew me anyway - thank you to both groups.
I REALLY need to work on some celebs and set up my website!

We should never berate ourselves for discussing a touchy topic in art. That's how we learn what's going on in another artist's mind, and use that information for ourselves. I love drawing people on the board, particularly if it's someone i know that is regularly contributing, so it is frustrating to draw someone new, and then you never see them again. I was thinking that we should have some kinds of guidelines. Maybe an artist (beginner or experienced) should be willing to post a certain number of caricatures before they get drawn. Also, I don't really enjoy or have the time to draw somebody's uncle or boyfriend, or girlfriend, or the guy you work with...I love drawing the kids of the members, here, but perhaps we should consider limiting it to ourselves, and kids, and spouses. Maybe a contributor should become a senior (I don't remember the levels...but someone who has been posting for a while...like a lieutenant...that's pronounced "leftenant" in canada). And then, once they've posted some caricatures of others, then we could try the adorable kids. (I'm apologizing for putting up pix of my grown kids as subjects...they really don't care about caricatures anyway!). Toonmom, you've done a great job so far of monitoring this board...I think it just needs some finetuning in some areas. Don, I'm like you...I love getting the feedback and giving it out...more useful for me than reading a lesson (which I do enough of in class!). Pagman, DM, some of you other guys...remember my name is STOONTOONS...now that I've criticized the nowdrawthis section, I'd love to see some new stuff of me!

I will do that, over the weekend. I'm in a big rush to get out the door, travelling back to Medicine Hat. I spent a day and a half at home, now it's back to school. I may have a better pic somewhere, so I'll post in a day or two. Thanks Pagman. (with my bad attitude, i've been called a stormtrooper before! kinda like it!) ;D

I think it should be left up to the individual to decide whether or not they want to draw a person. I don't feel that should be up to anyone else to decide. You make a good point though stoons, I just don't think that's something that needs to be controlled by the board. Here's the thread: stoontoons

Well I am getting in late on this one and I am new to this board and not an accomplished caricature artist as some of you are. Like thats a secret. Anyway I for one am appreciative of the talent on this board and their willingness to offer constructive critiques. They have helped immensely. It is difficult to locate help in caricature. There are many sights on painting, drawing, etc. but caricature instruction is difficult to find. I m finding that caricature, like all art is an individual style, but you must first learn the rules before you can break them. This is where you folks have helped greatly. Thank all of you who have taken your time, a commodity, that I know is dear, to assit someone to further themself in this art form. All art continues to exsist through the effort of the artist to produce and assist others who wish to produce their own product. I believe what you people in the trenches of working and studing this art daily offer in assistance is more than any school can offer. Thanks again.
