I started doing this last night. Drawing from the TV while everyone is moving around is suppose to force you to quickly grab their likeness. Well, my first attempt didn't go so well (to say the least). I drew while watching my 1/2 hour shows (4 of them), I only got 1 finished drawing the whole 2 hours (and it doesn't look like him). That's ok, it leaves room for improvement ;D Here's what I ended up with The kids want to watch Space Jam tonight, so that will give me more time to work on each person.

it is tough to draw from tv, but it's also excellent practise. my sketchbook looks like this, too; really helps me to focus in on what the dominant feature is, just one thing at a time.

I am going to take my sketch book with me to the airport tomorrow. Any tips on how to draw people live, without them knowing it?

Here is one I did last night while watching Blood Work It's Clint Eastwood. It doesn't look like him, but I did get his entire face done and it is sort of caricaturish (I think that's a made up word). I guess 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

I find the best place to find subjects to draw on tv are the court shows. The two protagonists have their faces on screen for a long time and there are some really funny-looking people there.
