How long does it take you, start-to-finish to do a caricature?
I work in graphite mainly and it takes me on average about an hour to do a drawing. I spend about 10 minutes (+/-) on the sketch and the rest of my time on shading and line weights.
How much time do you spend on one?

i take about 5-7 minutes when i'm drawing at a live gig, where i have to be quick, so people can move on. those caricatures aren't as detailed...i don't use colour, and it's more or less a quick ink drawing, with a tiny bit of exaggeration. for my celebrity caricatures, i take about 1/2 hour to do a sketch, and another 1/2 hour or more to finish the drawing. my drawings are always being reworked, so i often do a sketch, leave it aside, then try again later. a drawing might go thru several different versions before i decide to add ink and colour.
