Hey does anyone know about copyright issues regarding celebrity caricatures?
For example, would it be legal for me to sell postcards of celebrities I have painted without that celebrities permission?

Hi Dan First, thanks for the kind comments you left on my blog when you stopped by a few days ago - appreciated. Also - thanks for leading me to this forum! As for the copyright issue - I believe www.law.ed.ac.uk/ahrb/personality/uk.asp kind of explains the basics for the UK at least - but I still think its wise to get legal advice if you want to be 100% sure. I think tourist souvenir shops in London work this way because most of them sell plates, flags and other items with likenesses of Royal Family members on em... |
