Hey,
Does anyone have any good advice on taking digital photos of paintings? I've been told to take them in warm light (late-afternoon sun), and not in direct light (i.e. near a window, but not facing the window). Any hints?
By the way, I can't afford any fancy lighting or anything. The sun is all I've got!
Thanks Dan

I have advice about taking pictures of large paintings, dont know if its good...you be the judge.
most of my drawings are larger that 16 x 20, so what i do to take a picture of them is i set up my tripod (or a pile of books) and put the lens eye level with the painting...as I tack my drawing to a bullietin board (or lean it up against a wall) and shoot, i dont use the flash because i think it washes out the image, but whatever youre doing seems to be doing the trick, youre getting good photographs of of work! not quite sure why youre asking, but thats how i photograph my work...
