I will try to post some of my pictures, but I'm not too good at computer literacy! I had to take pictures of them, because my scanner bit the big one, so they are not too clear. I just started doing watercolor this past summer, and fell in love with it. I still have SO much to learn! I wish I could do art for a living! I'd even take a pay cut. I am so addicted to it. This is the first painting i did:

lorna, i really appreciate your posting that. it's quite lovely. there's a real sense of serenity to it, which i like. watercolour is difficult to work with, from what other artists have told me. it's a medium i am too afraid to try. but kudos to you for creating with it! ;D

Thanks for the encouragement! I get so frustrated by the medium! I found opaque watercolors to be more forgiving, but I like a challenge, so I find myself going back to it. On this particular painting, my instructor told me it was too 'thick'. I put way too much paint on the paper. Oh well!

I think it looks good. I just bought a cheap set of watercolors, haven't opened them up yet though. I would like to use them to color some of my caricatures. I hope my first attempt will turn out half this good.

Here is a picture of my son, but I cannot get it rotated! I did this one in watercolor also, and my instructor did one side, and I did the other.

Thanks, ToonMom, for both the complement AND helping me rotate! Geesh...I'm frustrated by not knowing computer stuff! At least I got the pictures to show up today! LOL
As for the painting, I messed up really bad on the chin area, and I quit, because I cannot fix it. Once the paint is on the paper, it's too late! Just one little swipe of purple ruined a month's work!

Thanks, yesithurtz! I'm surprised at how the camera made my painting look so bad though. It doesnt show the undertones as well!
I find watercolor very challenging, especially for portraits! I've tried to paint my son many times, and just cannot do him justice! It's so frustrating. Does anyone have any suggestions for mistakes made in watercolor?

Lorna, hi This is great work. I can see you like fine art. I know the caricature thing is all new to you however, I think you will have no problems picking it up...

Thanks everyone for the wonderful support! I apologize for not being online more. My family was hit with a bad virus, including my 6 year old diabetic son. I have it now, so I probably will not be online for a while, until I can sit upright anyway. I just wanted to check in and let everyone know why I haven't responded!
