i was wanting to try another cartoonishly rendered flash drawring again, and this guy seemed like a good subject for it. rainn wilson, as dwight schrute from the (slightly inferior) american version of "the office".

hmmm... not doing a great job on this "catching up" idea... i had a hard time thinking of an "r" female that really inspired me. and i still haven't. my muse rachael ray is not. but out of desperation i finally settled on her. i'm not sure i really got this one right, either. the head tilt really messed me up. i did a lot of erasing and re-drawring, and i'm still not sure it's dead-on. but i'm giving up and posting it. so there. rachael ray:

man alive, horate! where did you find that?! okay, "s" male. two guys, each with one name starting with an "s". i had in mind a composition quite similar to this (albeit with colbert on our left), then discovered, while searching for photo references, that rolling stone magazine had beaten me to it. so i just copied theirs. jon stewart and stephen colbert:

mmm... nope.
occasionally, i do stuff in a different style (my second david bowie, my bob dylan and my they might be giants are examples), but for the most part, i enjoy working in the style i'm used to, and i do a good job of it, if i do say so myself. so why should i change anything?

thanx horate. maybe other artists would find her easier to draw, but i had a difficult time, especially trying to get the shape of her nose just right, for some reason.

i just think tina fey is one of the funniest people in the business these days, and so when a friend of mine suggested i draw her as my "t" female, i jumped on the idea. all comments welcome.

the lack o famous people (at least, ones i could think of) with names beginning with "u" has forced me once again to step outside my comfort area and draw someone in whom i have zero interest. it's usher.
