my hope now is to at least be caught up by the end of june, so that halfway through the year, i'll be halfway through the alphabet. crossing my fingers. here's the "k" female, nicole kidman. i've seen a lot of caricatures of her that i didn't think looked like her. is this another one?

I knew who it was right away. I love the softness of the colors. The background really adds to the final piece.

yes! two in one week! now i'll only be one week behind! there are only a few letters of the alphabet for which i've known since beginning of this project whom i was going to draw. this was one of them. "l" female was always going to be sophia loren. i was planning on putting some shading on this, but then i ended up spending so much time on the hair that i just couldn't rationalize spending the time, with work piling up as it is. so here's the pencil sketch (well, digital pencil) of sphia loren:

in the circumstances(i.e. i've been insanely busy these last few weeks; i'm trying to get caught up to where i should be on this project; i stupidly chose a group of six guys to do for this one), please understand my posting such a quick-looking, rough sketch. i know the composition is less than perfect, and if i'd thought about that before i just started drawing individual faces, i'd have had eric idle facing the other way. if i ever get around to making a nice, finished version of this (i would like to), i'll change that, or maybe the way the faces are arranged or something.... anyway, here's the "m" male, monty python:

i don't know whether i've mentioned it, but one of the rules i've set for myself on this project was that each celebrity had to be someone i'd never tried drawring before, or had tried, but wasn't too happy with the result. i guess i'm kinda sorta breaking that rule with the "m" female, because i have drawn her before, and at the time i liked it. however, that drawring has long been lost to this world (or, to me at least), and i get the feeling i wouldn't like it anymore if i saw it. so i went ahead and drew her up again. it's sarah mclachlan, and i swear it looked more like her before i started adding shading. what a rip.

"n" male time. i was going to put some shading on this, but i'm not 100% sure about the likeness, so i'll wait and see what youse guyses says about it first, and then maybe someday i'll go a bit further on it. edward norton.

ah, someone does still come around here!
thanx, horate. i'd agree the likeness is not all there, but the different eye sizes are intentional. when he grins like that, his left eye squints up a lot more than his right. as for the head angle, it was like that in one of my reference photos, and i really liked it. it gave it a certain uniqueness and character, like the photo was more candid than posed. but that didn't translate well to the drawring. it just looks awkward.

Don i think this last is better....and remember the better results depend on the election of the photo reference.Don`t forgive to made your reseArchs on you tube OR VIDEOS to obtain differents angles of faCE.
