I thought I would pass along a simple drawing tip that helped me out as a beginner. When drawing the face remember that the cheek bone always points towards the mouth. It doesn't matter if it's a 3 quarter view, front view, side view; looking up or looking down, the cheek bone always points towards the mouth. The reason. anatomically, is because the cheek bone is connected with the upper dental structure i.e. the upper teeth. If you think about it, just your bottom jaw moves when you talk, eat, yawn, etc. I think it's a good idea for every artist to get a good toy skull or at least some good pictures to draw from. Draw precisely what the skull looks like. Then take more liberty and exaggerate it. Squash and streach it! I have drawn some examples of the cheek bone to give you a better idea of what I'm talking about. Just something to think about when drawing your subject's cheeks....... ;D If you like this tutorial, let me know and I'll post more when I have time.

great tips, mauri. i just realized that i've been so busy drawing caricatures for the board, that i've completely forgotten to finish the lesson on sequencing! okay, that is top of my list this week. maybe i've been putting it off because i really don't want to finish the course...i'd love for it to go on forever!
