What a bad day.was having a shower this morning,when the kids are screaming at my shower door.I come out dressed in a towel,kids yelling Taeah' room is on fire. Anyway house is full of smoke,smoke detectors going off.I run to Taeah''s room dressed only in a towel dripping wet.First thing i see is flames about knee high in Taeah''s room.Her bed doona and carpet all on fire.I yell for the kids to get out of the house.Then picked up the burning doona and smother the flames.Then ran and got water. Anyway cut a long story short.Got fire out,severly burnt my left hand,and burnt my feet.Fire brigade came,spent the afternoon at the hospital.so all in all a crappy day.But the kids are fine,house was saved,and my hand will be fine.Here are some photos    |

What started the fire? My gosh, what a scary experience for you and your family. I am happy that all will be fine. Are you left or right handed?

Grant man! You had my heart stop there for a min. I could not read fast enough to get to the end to make sure the kids and you were OK, Omg that is horrible! I am soooooooooo glad you guys are fine. The house wasn't too bad that good to hear also... I would say that was a bad day! I hope all will be back to normal soon.

Thanks guys.I am right handed,so i can still draw ;D
I must admit it was a very scary experience,so many things rush through your head.I would say i was about 2 minutes away from losing the house.
But all is well.The fire was started by Logan my little boy.He found a gas lighter we use for lighting candles.so to say we have all learnt a valuable lesson is an understatment.
Everything is covered.insurance mob said all will be fine.And yes the most important thing is ...my new office is fine

what a scary experience! glad to hear that everyone (but your hand) is fine. good to know that your office is fine, too. are the kids emotionally okay now? or are they scared?

I am very sorry to see this happen. I am glad to see that no one got hurt to bad. I hope you get all healed up alright. Thankfully things didn't get worse, things like this makes you count your blessings.

hey grant how u feeling now after all that mess with your house?  ? hows the kids feeling? so glad to hear that ur all ok....kids and lighters , man they just dont mix do they!!!!! i think il be learning a valuable lesson also after what you went through......as my daughter is always touching stuff!!!!! so glad your all ok and that ur house is still standing...xxx love maz.xxx |

Thanks Maz...yes a valuable lesson learnt.i recommend you make sure you have a fire blanket and extiquisher in the house.
But we are all fine here.My hand is healing quite well.Thanks for the concerns ;D
