To me,..really, i don´t like this guy.....he make a show with animals, ...i don´t like the way he died,...but, he was a clown the way he present the nature life.only my opinion.

Horate i understand you were not a big Irwin fan from what you posted a few weeks back.That's fine,i was not a fan at the start either.But then i came to realize this guy is the real deal.What you see is what you get.He is genuine with his passion for life.he loved life,and did not deserve to die.My 7 year old boy cried for days after his death.His memorial was televised live on TV here.He was just a great ambassador for this country.And it was a tragedy the way he died.I was shocked how upset i became as well.
So to see the toon you posted,I find terribly offensive and disrespectful.This is not attack on you.just my opinion.
I thought i should explain myself a bit better,than just saying it was poor taste.

This isn't finished, I want to color this also. I'm trying to work my caricatures like I work my portraits. Didn't quite come out how I wanted. I was deeply saddened when this "wildlife warrior" passed on. What he has done for wildlife and his love of life will be missed. It was a terrible tragedy that he lost his life. But, he died doing what he loved and I don't think he would have done anything differently. He loved his family and he loved wildlife and most importantly he loved LIFE itself. I think we all learned something from Steve Irwin. Here's my tribute to him. I wish it were better.  ricky  |

Not bad Ricky! I think if you defined the lines a little more it would help (IMO). I think things just get sort of lost. Or, maybe you could just darken the shading in some areas. Hope that is helpful to you?

Ricky,
Great job! You just don't give up. Your work is getting better all the time. Nice stretch on the face. I do agree with toonmom you need to make your darks a bit darker. This will add more of a lost and found line to your work. Would love to see it in color.

I agree with Mauri, Ricky you did a great job here. Likeness is right on. You need to finish it. When I saw Steve's picture I couldn’t think about exaggerating him…. probably because of his shocking death, I couldn’t feel to exaggerate his face.
But by looking at your caricature I realized, it’s not that difficult. You’re doing good job…go ahead.

mine that I did awhile back, I wish I would have used a better referance, maybe ill do another quick sketch soon, byut I just havent had enough time lately just to sit down and draw for fun...  also, sorry for taking pictures of it, too lazy to scan I guess... -Chris |
