Those are interesting. What do the people who buy them do with them? Are they hung on the wall like a framed piece?

yes, they are hung on the wall like a painting. They are fun and whimsical.I found an old antique window and painted a cat on it.I t looked like the cat was sitting on the window.I had a dinner party and this lady loved it and wanted one.So I painted her one and from there it was word of mouth until someone who owned a upscale store wanted them.So now I just paint them for her.I sell about four a month to her.It just goes to show you that you never know whats going to take off!!I keep them fun and loose. They really sell well here, and I sign the back of each of them. The hard part for me is finding the Windows.I use wire to hang them.It might be just a southern thing but give one a try.I paint on the back so everything is painted in reverse.

Thanks!!!!Well, they don't make me loads of money but they buy my art supplies for my painting.I sell them to the owner of the high in decorator shop where all the rich women shop.Location, location location....even in art!I get 150.00 and she sells them for 300.00-50.00 less for the small ones.
O.K.-where to get the windows. This has been the hardest part for me.I go to flea markets and buy all they have for one price and it is about 10.00 apiece. And antique stores but they are higher in price.I had thought I would call a window replacement shop and see what they did with the old windows.I have found them on the side of the road ready for the trash.I have also seen them on E-bay but never bought them.
If you noticed the first window is Paul Cezannes painting- You could some how incorporate your caricatures in the window. If you decide to try one let me know there are some tips I have learned that I can pass on to you.

jtk-Thanks(I think ha!ha!)Windows are my thing!I base all my paintings on windows in some way.I have been working on my artist statement and will post it when I finish.I found two windows 6 feet tall and 5 feet long that I am going to paint.I am going to put it in my senior show-which is two years away but it will take my that long to get my paintings and windows together. If you think the windows are weird you should see all my paintings!!You know- you never know what you will see in someones window!
Today we cleaned out a store room thats off the garage and has a vent for air.I made it into my studio where no little fingers can get into my paint.I am sure some of you can relate!I am so proud to have a place to paint! Its not much but its mine.It is where I am keeping my paintings that are complete.I am not going to show anyone until the show.Just because they don't make sense by themselves.
Wow can I ramble,sorry!!

this is interesting. haven't seen a painted window before. But if you're making money at it, go for it! i especially like the pink wall and green table one. very impressionist.
