wow, nice Bergman, Don, congrats dude, very nice, likeness and technique very good. Why you prefer digital way to make this nice caricature ? IMO, on oils or acrylics it could be piece of art, and you can win a lot of $$$$$$.

thanx, horate. again, most of these (including ingrid) are just sketches, not finished works. and i've been doing them digitally just for convenience's sake. if i do them digitally, i don't have to find time to scan them.

Impressive work Don. Digital seems like a nice way to go for working out details of a sketch and they look more finished than if they were just sketched with pencil and paper.

...zzzz....for years, phylosophers of digital caricatures are searching the true behind a wacom, a new photoshop´s tip , a new miraculous software,...even they feel better when some company promotes the software using a step by step made by him....many people think that using digital method they could draw or paint better...ok, but if i had to choose, i think it´s better or more honest a piece of paper with any kind of freaky lines, to me is more real.I like sometimes digital, but for sure is better feel the paper, the pencils, the smell, the touch, and of course i prefer to scan, and spend many time on that if it necessary, cause i have the original on my hands, not inside a machine.

i agree with you, horate. and there's definitely something i don't like about not having a hard copy of a finished works that i can hold in my hands. but again, as i say, this is a matter of convenience. i can do these during my lunch breaks at work. if i were to insist on doing them all in traditional media, i would never find time to do it. during the summer, while i'm caricaturing at the waterfront, i'll be producing some new coloured pencil works. and maybe even a painting or two (but probably not).
oh, and thanx, toonmom.

Don, i remember and old guy who give me 2 "excuses" to not use traditional techniques , the first was "MY wife blame me cause my clothes are fully paint with rest of charcoal and pastels...." the second excuse was " if i use traditional techniques i can´t use the UNDO function,....and i love the UNDO function.....Whats being the world without the UNDO function". the time past, and recently, i saw the same guy drawing and coloring with, pencils.....but, the results of this lasts works seem be made by a child of 10 years...
do you love the undo function ?

i do like it, but i don't use it much, for that very reason. i don't want to get so dependent on it that i can't draw without it anymore.

Sorry i don`t like it Don, i see the Martin Luther face, but i see a lot of mistakes on the basic construction specially the perspective.why do you draw all with the same size ?(eyes, nose, mouth).

same size? not sure what you mean by that.

something is wrong with eyes, nose and mouth, i think the ref pic was difficult ti draw, for the perspective, and thats why your caricature seem be so strange.
