What did you haul it all in Slim? I mean from the car to the site. I have ONE of those bases for my umbrella - and it's HEAVY. And the umbrella gets to be a little awkward. It's a hassle carrying it all - and you got THREE of them heavy things!?!

I don't have a car either düde, so I preffer to go to some restaurant in a theme park or turistic area, show the managger my work and offer him 10% of the profit if he wants me in his place to entertain his clients for a day or two a week. You might want to give it a shot. No umbrella or chairs needed, only your samples and cool attitude with clients.

I have a van - but in San Antonio you can't park two feet away from your spot. mabye two blocks away if your downtown. Even when I work the zoo and park in their lot - it's a long walk from the parking lot to my location.
That's what I'm talking about - getting the stuff from the car to the spot. I'm not about to carry an umbrella to my spot and go back to my car for more stuff. When I return my umbrella would be gone!
I have to carry it all in one trip and sometimes there's a hill or steps to fight along the way.

one more little thing: after trying for a long time (and being forced to work with one at wonderland), i finally decided I HATE EASELS! can't work with them. personally, i find it a whole lot easier to work on a lightweight board, held at an angle on my lap, with a piece of wire strung across the top to hang the pad on. then i use small bulldog clips in the corners of the pad to keep the wind from blowing them around. maybe this is just me, but i find it a lot easier, and it eliminates the need to lug an easel around.
